Compare the signals a homepage actually publishes

The comparison reads each public homepage and its robots.txt separately from the Ahrefs lookup. It checks HTTP status, HTTPS, metadata, H1 headings, canonical markup, social metadata, viewport and HTML language, and reports observed links and approximate HTML word count.

Use it when reviewing your own site against a relevant competitor or checking a recent homepage change. A signal marked present still needs interpretation: a title can exist without describing the page well, and a canonical can exist without pointing to the intended URL.

Turn the comparison into an editing checklist

Start with unavailable checks and indexing restrictions, then review missing metadata and heading structure. Read the exact returned values before making changes. Domain Rating is a separate backlink metric and is not included as evidence of better on-page content.
