IndieTools is a human-reviewed startup and product directory for discovering independent SaaS products, useful apps, developer tools, and the founders building them. Each public record can connect a product to its maker profiles, categories, technologies, pricing context and updates.
The goal is long-term discovery. A useful product should still be findable after its announcement leaves a social feed. Stable catalogue pages and clear relationships give visitors enough context to evaluate it and give search or AI systems a consistent source to retrieve.
Publication is selective but not pay-to-play. Every submission is reviewed by a person, payment never guarantees approval and paid inventory is labelled separately from organic results.

A published Free listing can optionally add an IndieTools badge and run a website check for its link benefit. Product submission does not require DNS or work-email verification, and a badge is not a product-quality endorsement.

Stay discoverable after launch
The published record connects the product to its makers, categories, technologies and updates so visitors and machines can retrieve the same facts.
Search and AI access
One public catalogue, several ways to retrieve it.
Public product and founder facts are available as normal web pages and through documented machine interfaces. Stable URLs, explicit entity relationships and structured fields help crawlers and assistants understand what each record is.
These interfaces improve retrieval and citation readiness; they do not guarantee a search ranking or inclusion in any AI answer. Private messages, unpublished submissions and account data are excluded.

- Pro and Authority products display a paid product marker. Free products can add an IndieTools website badge and run a check to qualify for a DoFollow website link; this is optional and does not gate publication. Product submission does not require DNS or work-email verification. Badges do not certify product quality or legal identity.
- When does a product receive a followed website link?
- A Free listing normally uses a nofollow website link. A qualifying IndieTools badge can earn a followed link while the badge and backlink remain verified. Pro and Authority grant a permanent followed website link without requiring a website badge.
- How can AI assistants access IndieTools?
- IndieTools publishes public catalogue data through HTML pages, structured data, llms.txt documents, an AI snapshot, a public REST API, OpenAPI, an MCP server and a CLI. Eligible saved Pro and Authority discovery customizations are included in public product context. Private account data, messages and unpublished AI drafts are excluded.
- Does payment affect organic ranking?
- No. Paid placements are labelled and kept separate from organic catalogue ordering. Pro and Authority benefits, Featured campaigns and advertisements do not buy editorial approval or organic rank.
