Welcome to IndieTools ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using our website, creating an account, or submitting a product, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
IndieTools is a directory platform dedicated to showcasing apps, tools, and courses created by independent makers. We provide a space for discovery, feedback, and community interaction.
2. User Accounts
To submit products, leave comments or access certain features, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
3. Submission Eligibility and Review Process
We are a curated community. By submitting a product, you represent and warrant that your product adheres to our core Indie Requirements:
Indie-Made: The product is built by an individual, a solo founder, or a small, independent team.
No VC Funding: The product has not raised capital from Venture Capital firms.
Bootstrapped: The product is self-funded or customer-funded.
Live & Functional: The product must be live and accessible to the public (e.g., v1.0, MVP, or Public Beta). We do not accept landing pages, "coming soon" pages, or waitlists. Users must be able to use or sign up for the core service immediately.
We reserve the right to reject or remove any listing that we believe violates the spirit of these requirements, even if it technically meets the criteria.
All product submissions are reviewed manually to ensure they meet the above Indie Requirements. We aim to complete reviews within 1 to 3 business days. You will be notified of the outcome via email. Submitting a product does not guarantee approval or listing on the platform.
4. Content and Ownership
User-Submitted Products: If you submit your own product, you retain full ownership of the intellectual property regarding that product. By submitting it, you grant IndieTools a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your product information, screenshots, and logos for the purpose of operating and promoting the directory.
Platform-Curated Products: To provide a comprehensive directory for our users, IndieTools (the platform admins) may manually add publicly available indie products to the site. If you are the founder of a product we have curated and wish to claim the listing to manage it yourself, or if you wish to have it removed entirely, you may do so at any time by contacting us.
Affiliate Links: As noted in our Affiliate Disclosure, IndieTools may append affiliate links to products, including those manually curated by the platform, to support our operations. Claiming a curated listing does not automatically guarantee the removal of existing platform affiliate links unless explicitly agreed upon.
5. Paid "Featured" Placements
We offer a paid "Featured" placement to provide increased visibility for approved products. By purchasing a Featured placement, you agree to the following terms:
Review and Approval Timeline: All products, including those paying for Featured placement, are subject to a manual review to ensure they meet our Indie Requirements (as outlined in Section 3). We aim to process these reviews within 1 to 3 business days.
Estimated Start Dates: When purchasing a Featured placement, you may be shown a scheduled start date. This date is strictly an estimate based on currently available spots and the existing queue. The actual start date may vary, particularly if your product is newly submitted and requires the 1 to 3 business day review process. Your 30-day Featured period will officially begin only on the actual date the placement goes live on the platform.
Refund Policy: If your product is not approved during our review process, you will receive a full refund. However, once a product is approved and the Featured placement goes live, all sales are final. Because Featured spots reserve strictly limited premium space on the platform, we do not offer refunds, partial refunds, or cancellations for active or completed Featured periods.
Performance Disclaimer: While Featured placements are designed to maximize your visibility on the platform, we do not guarantee any specific outcomes, including but not limited to traffic, clicks, leads, user sign-ups, or sales.
Revocation of Placement: If your product or website is altered during the Featured period in a way that violates our Indie Requirements or Moderation guidelines (e.g., pivoting to NSFW content, adding malicious code, or taking VC funding), we reserve the right to remove the listing immediately without a refund.
Platform Availability: We strive to keep IndieTools online and accessible at all times. However, occasional downtime for routine maintenance or unforeseen technical issues may occur. Minor, temporary interruptions in service do not entitle you to an extension of your Featured period or a refund.
6. Moderation and Removal Rights
We aim to maintain a high-quality directory. We reserve the strict right to remove any listing or suspend any user account at our sole discretion, without prior notice or liability, for reasons including but not limited to:
Violation of the "Indie" requirements (e.g., accepting VC funding).
Products deemed offensive, hateful, fraudulent, NSFW (Not Safe For Work), pornographic or harmful.
Abandonment (products that are no longer functional).
7. Code of Conduct
We thrive on constructive feedback. When leaving comments or interacting with others:
Be respectful and kind. Harassment, hate speech, or abuse will result in an immediate ban.
No spamming or self-promotion in comment sections.
8. Communication Preferences
By creating an account, you consent to receive electronic communications from us, including:
Account verification and transactional emails.
Status updates regarding your product submissions.
Periodic newsletters and platform updates.
You may opt-out of marketing newsletters at any time via the "Unsubscribe" link, but transactional emails regarding your account status are mandatory.
9. Copyright & DMCA Policy
We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that any content on our platform infringes your copyright, please notify us immediately at thealexturovski@gmail.com. We will investigate and remove infringing content in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
10. Affiliate Disclosure
Some links to products listed on this site may be affiliate links. This means that if you click on the link and purchase the product, IndieTools may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps support our platform and keep it free for makers.
11. Disclaimers and Liability
No Endorsement: We list products for informational purposes. We do not endorse, vet, or guarantee the safety or functionality of any third-party app listed on our site. Users access listed products at their own risk.
"As Is" Service: The platform is provided "as is." We do not guarantee the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
