# IndieTools

> IndieTools is a product discovery directory and founder network where independent builders list what they are shipping and readers find new software and the people behind it.

Listing a product is free and the listing is permanent. Nothing expires it, and a product keeps its page whether or not anything has ever been paid for.

A free listing links out to the product with nofollow. The Permanent Followed Backlink is a separate one-off purchase that removes it, giving that product a permanent followed link. It is bought once, it does not renew, and it is unaffected by whether anything else is running.

Featured Product is paid placement. It is always labelled as featured, it buys visibility and nothing else, and it never changes organic ranking anywhere on the site. Buying Featured does not change a product link either. The two purchases are independent.

Ranking is not for sale. No payment moves a product up the directory, up a category, or up search results on this site.
