Already listed and published? It participates automatically at 0 Energy, with nothing duplicated. Not listed yet? Submit it for the same editorial review as every other IndieTools product; Energy checkout opens after publication.
- Step 02
Charge it with Energy
Energy changes only your place on the board. Your product remains listed at 0 Energy; each purchase stays active for 30 days and is not a subscription.
- Step 03
Climb the Energy Board
More Energy ranks higher. Places update as Energy changes, and you always see the Energy between you and the next place.

Get discovered inside IndieTools
Every board row opens your normal IndieTools product page, where visitors can review the product and continue to its website. Your product page also links back to the board.
Boost is not a second directory. There is one product record, one product page and one set of categories, and Boost is a layer on top of them.

Boost is a paid board. Every eligible published product participates at 0 Energy. Purchased Energy only changes its order on this board. The directory, category pages, search, the Top 100 and the Domain Rating leaderboard are separate, and their order is never for sale.

Questions about Boost
What is IndieTools Boost?
Boost is a paid visibility layer on IndieTools. Every eligible published product participates on the Energy Board at 0 Energy, and adding Energy moves it higher for more chances to be discovered on the platform.
Is Boost a separate product directory?
No. Every Boost entry is a normal IndieTools product with the same product page, founder profile and categories. Boost adds a competitive board on top of the directory. It does not copy or replace it.
My product is already on IndieTools. Can I use it for Boost?
Yes. If it is published and eligible, it participates automatically at 0 Energy. Boost uses the existing listing and product page, so nothing is duplicated.
My product is not on IndieTools yet. What happens when I enter Boost?
Submit it for the normal IndieTools editorial review first. Once the product is published and eligible, it appears on the board at 0 Energy and its owner can add Energy; Boost does not bypass or change review.
Where do the links on the Energy Board go?
Each product name and View Product control opens the product’s normal IndieTools page. Category labels open the matching catalogue page. The board has no direct outbound website link; the product page applies the site’s normal link policy, and Energy never changes it.
What is the difference between Boost, Authority and Advertise?
Boost is competitive visibility ranked by Active Energy. Authority is a one-time product package with permanent discovery controls, a reviewed article and one 30-day Featured period. Advertise is a separate 14-day campaign with its own creative and destination. They can be combined without changing organic directory ranking.
How is an Energy Board ranked?
By Active Energy, and only by that. The product holding more Active Energy ranks higher. A tie stays with the product that reached that exact balance first, so a later top-up cannot buy a tie-break advantage. You always see your place, the next one and the Energy between them.
Is Boost a subscription?
No. You add Energy whenever you want, and nothing renews. Each purchase stays active for 30 days from the day it was bought and then expires. The board never resets for everyone at once: when your Energy expires your place updates on its own, and you can add more at any time.
Does a high Energy Rank mean a product is the best in its category?
No. An Energy Rank is a rank in Energy. It shows which products hold the most Active Energy on a paid board, and it says nothing about quality. Organic rankings on IndieTools are earned separately and never read Energy.
Does Boost change the organic order anywhere on IndieTools?
No. Boost is its own labelled, paid board. The directory, category pages, search, the Top 100 and the Domain Rating leaderboard never read Energy, and their order is never for sale.
Does Boost promise results in search engines or AI answers?
No. Boost adds visibility and structure inside IndieTools: a crawlable board, links back to the board and richer product pages. Search engines and AI systems decide for themselves what they index, show and recommend.
